listed a bunch of things on CL today, which means a bunch of auto scam texts. If they mention a google code in the first message I ignore, unless they persist, as I assume thats just a computer and no human involved as yet. But if they don’t, I’ll message back and hope to waste someone’s time.

I also reply vaguely if it is maybe a real person, you never know, some people just sound like bots when replying to CL ads.
an example of the google code mentioned in first message I ignore. but later they sent “???” but it didnt go far

usually they are forcing a reset on an account. Theres a number of different ways it can be used.
obviously the screenshot was ms-painted befoire I sent it back to them

thats usually my sole motivation, a bit of a giggle and to string someone along. maybe if I waste 5 of his minutes they’ll scam one less person today. but doubtful.

Gotta love catching those scammers in the act. They just assume people are always going to fall for it and when they don’t they make you seem like the bad guy. Very funny, thank you for sharing.
